Mother tongue

(2025) 13:31, Digital, Color, Sound

This short film explores the complex relationship between language, memory, and identity. Drawing from a poem by Melissa Lozada-Oliva, it reflects on the experience of speaking a mother tongue imperfectly—knowing the words but feeling distant from their full meaning. Through simple, intimate gestures, such as an ice cube slowly melting on the tongue, the film examines how time, numbness, and loss can shape and limit our ability to communicate.
